Tristan began singing in a choir from the age of 11 as a treble singer within the Anglican/Episcopal denomination. His love for choral music and expression of voice was cultivated during this period - even though this experience came solely from raw talent and no formal training.
Tristan’s first taste of formal training did not occur until he was in his early twenties. During his teenage years he recognized that outside of his treble voice he now had a tenor/baritone quality that showed his true musical gift which remains even until now.
On three occasions Tristan won the Anglican Song and Voice competition: at age 18 with the song "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and ages 19 and 21 with originals songs he penned. He has sung with the St. Lawrence and St. Michael Cathedral church choirs in Barbados, the Laudamus Chamber Choir, Myriad Singers of Barbados, St. Patrick’s Ushers Guild Choir, Cable & Wireless Choir and Barclays Singers, all choirs within Barbados. He has sung with the Westminster Symphonic, Chapel, Scola Cantorum and Jubilee Singers, all of which are part of the Westminster Choir College of Princeton NJ.
Tristan has freelanced as a tenor in the NY area, singing with numerous church choirs and some established groups, three of them being the choirs at Abyssinian Baptist Church, The Unsung Collective and Kollective366. As a soloist Tristan has had the opportunity to do so within the choir framework and as an independent performer. He has performed genres such as gospel, classical, opera and contemporary music.
Tristan currently resides in NY and Atlanta and has now decided to solely focus on a musical career after having worked in the corporate world for all of his adult life. Tristan’s love for music and singing draws others into the music he performs and touches their hearts the same way his heart is touched each time he delivers songs near and dear to him.
